Position: Early Childhood Educator CLASSIFICATION: Hourly REPORTS TO: Coordinator POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing inclusive quality early childhood education for children enrolled in Red Deer Child Care Society programs to ensure safe care and well-being of children in accordance with provincial regulations and the Society’s policies and procedures. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: PROVIDING EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION BY : * Creating a respectful, reciprocal, and responsive relationship with each child by:observing and responding to their developmentsupporting their physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive developmentnurturing their dispositions to learnassisting to develop a positive sense of self and peers * observing and responding to their development * supporting their physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and cognitive development * nurturing their dispositions to learn * assisting to develop a positive sense of self and peers * Engaging children in child lead play and activities * Providing opportunities to children to develop awareness of the community * Creating a safe, responsive and diverse environment * Enhancing the environment for children to be creative and express ideas * Professional representation of Red Deer Child Care while out in the community * Accessing professional development to enhance childcare skills * Familiarity and implementation of Alberta Flight Curriculum Framework and ICC(Inclusive Child Care) principals and Ethical Conduct practices (Rights of the Child)SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: * An understanding of child development * The ability to communicate effectively * Time management and accountability * Work in a group setting to support children * Establish a rapport with families * Enjoy working with young children * Maintain confidentiality with all information related to the program, the families and theirchildren and the program staff * Adhere to the Oath of Confidentiality and Code of Conduct set forth by the Red Deer ChildCareQUALIFICATIONS: * Successful completion or enrollment in Early Learning and Child Care - Level 1Certification * Experience working with children * Valid First Aid Certificate * Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector SearchSend resumes to: ndc@reddeerchildcare.ca Company: Red Deer Child Care Salary: To Be Determined Contract: PERMANENT
