Position: GENERAL LABORER Requirements: * High-School Diploma * Class 5 Drivers LicenceJob Duties: * Read and understand site specific instructions * Review the work site on a daily basis and consult with Supervisor to understand work being * conducted, and any potential hazards. * Set up, re position and dismantle traffic control signage. * Protect workers and the public by keeping work space free of traffic, and warning oncoming traffic * of potential hazards. * Communicate effectively with other traffic control workers using established signals and radio * equipment to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and minimize confusion. * Maintain alertness at all times. * Assist truck in accessing and exiting work sites and directing them where to dump loads. * Assist with measuring work area for calculating quantities * Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Company * Safety Policy. * Other duties as assigned. * Physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis. * Must comply with Drug, Alcohol, and Fitness testing requirements. * Prior experience working within a paving company is a definite asset. * Through knowledge of the safe operation of the equipment and municipal road building industry * Prior experience and knowledge of road building process will be an asset * Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time under pressure * High attention to detail, strong communication skills and ability to follow directions * Ability to work in varying weather conditions * Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with little supervisionWork is throughout Alberta. All applicants must be willing to travel to the required job sites and work away from home, for extended periods of time.
