Design Engineer/CAD Technologist (2657-046)

Brandt is currently seeking a Design Engineer for our Truck Rigging and Vehicle Assembly Division in our NIsku, AB location. The successful candidate will have 5-10 years Engineering experience directly associated with the completion, modification, and alteration of truck vehicles including working knowledge of Oilfield platform, Crane, Logging, Aggregate, Plough, Tank, and other body installations. Professional Engineer status, registration with Transport Canada, and ASME experience preferred. Proven track record of designing complex equipment installations preferred. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Use 3D CAD to develop projects and products. 2. Use a combination of 2D CAD and other tools to develop overall system designs. 3. Focus on DFx, i.e. Design For Manufacturability, Serviceability, Reliability, Affordability, etc. 4. Produce engineering deliverables that meet Quality, Cost and Schedule requirements. 5. Mentor and develop personnel. 6. Field research as required. Business travel will be an occasional requirement. 7. Other tasks as may be assigned from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS * Professional Engineer or Technologist with 5+ years of experience * Extensive experience in machine design and 3D CAD systems, preferably Solidworks * Excellent communication skills - written and verbal * Product/project knowledge in the platform area * Experience designing welded and bolted fabricated assemblies * Knowledge of material science for steel and aluminum * Meticulous attention to detail * Excellent work ethic The Brandt Croup of Companies is Saskatchewan's largest privately held company and a Platinum member of the Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies Program.
