Canon started the EOS system in 1987 as a completely new ground-up design and complete masterpieces of modern simplicity. They are not sloppy hacks like Nikon's first attempts at AF cameras. Because they are original EOS cameras, every Canon EF lens made today, like L, USM and IS, work perfectly, unlike with Nikon, where nothing from 1987 works well with their newest cameras or lenses. Canon got it right the first time, although newer EOS cameras are nice, they are unnecessarily more complicated.
I used this camera inside a sound-proof blimp for production stills on movie sets. The 540EZ flash and OC-E3 was used with my EOS 3 on a Stroboframe bracket for grip'n grins, weddings, evening galas, etc.
