This is a unique hands-on opportunity for a person who loves the ocean and eco-tourism, and is interested in working seasonally in one of the loveliest areas of the world ? Victoria, on the south coast of Vancouver Island.

The business is unique not only because it features a 47 foot cedar strip vessel which serves both as a passenger vessel and a kayak mother-ship, but because it focuses on the Discovery and Chatham Islands, a protected marine wildlife area of Oak Bay close to Victoria, which is still pristine and most attractive to adventurers.

My kayaking business has been operating successfully for over 15 years and operating in an area where there is little competition for what I offer. With the re-introduction of my passenger vessel there is now further growth potential and plans are for expansion of operations. But these plans demand the energy and vision of a younger person, as I am nearing retirement and wish to focus on my sailing.

Business Assets include all equipment necessary for the above operations (kayaks and equipment, kayak trailer, Giant Canoe, inflatable and a wide variety of camping equipment). This vessel is capable of carrying up to 12 passengers on sightseeing tours, or carrying paddlers together with their kayaks and supplies for overnight kayak camping tours in and around Oak Bay and the Gulf Islands.

The person suited for taking over this part of my business would ideally be able to take take over when required on all matters, and be capable of driving the passenger vessel if not serving as a back -up kayak guide as well. Marketing skills are important as is the willingness to learn some new skills as a Skipper, naturalist and guide. This business would especially suit a person who is established in the Victoria area, has a home with a work shed and space on his property to store the boat trailer, kayaks and equipment.
